SNK and Athlon Games released a new character trailer for their upcoming fighter, Samurai Shodown, coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 25, and Nintendo Switch and PC in Q4 of 2019.
The character trailer for this week is Jubei who is a sensei to most and a traditional samurai warrior. His experience makes him a capable fighter and he wishes that younger fighters work hard to perhaps one day beat him in a match.
Additionally, the publisher revealed the remaining fighters to be revealed over the coming days as we get closer to launch.
Tuesday, 6/18: Earthquake
Wednesday, 6/19: Wu Riuxiang
Thursday, 6/20: Hanzo
Friday, 6/21: Kyoshiro
Alongside these character trailers will be new environments that players will be able to fight in.
Samurai Shodown will reboot the 2D fighting game series by presenting it with a new 3D graphical look. However, the developer promises that it will retain the classic fantasy Samurai manga look of the series.
Samurai Shodown is set in the late 18th century after the events of Samurai Showdown V and prior to the events of the original game. As of right now, the game will see the return of 13 classic characters, including Haohmaru, Earthquake, and Galford, along with three brand new characters to the series. The game also has planned DLC characters for after launch.
