Samurai Shodown Adds Gongsun Li as Free DLC Character Early Next Month

SNK released a new character trailer for Samurai Shodown, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on August 5.

The character, Gongsun Li, is a crossover character with the Tencent-developed mobile game Honor of Kings. The character will be for all fans, which is actually pretty nice since the other characters were premium DLC.

Gongsun Li uses wind attack magic along with an umbrella to take down her enemies. Her movements come off as being hard-hitting, but swift, not like other female characters on the roster. Good thing we won’t have to wait long to play as her.

Samurai Shodown will reboot the 2D fighting game series by presenting it with a new 3D graphical look. However, the developer has worked hard to retain the classic fantasy Samurai manga look of the series. Samurai Shodown is set in the late 18th century after the events of Samurai Showdown V and prior to the events of the original game. Each of the fighters has a personal mission which leads them to encounter many of their former foes.
