SNK and Athlon Games released a new character trailer for their upcoming fighter, Samurai Shodown, coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this June, and Nintendo Switch and PC in Q4 of 2019.
This week’s fighter is an original character named Darli Dagger. After spending most of her youth as a shipwright, Darli found herself on an island learning new skills from carpenters as well as how to protect herself from the teachings of pirates. Her goal is to build an unsinkable ship along with her comrades.
Samurai Shodown will reboot the 2D fighting game series by presenting it with a new 3D graphical look. However, the developer promises that it will retain the classic fantasy Samurai manga look of the series.
Samurai Shodown is set in the late 18th century after the events of Samurai Showdown V and prior to the events of the original game. As of right now, the game will see the return of thirteen classic characters, including Haohmaru, Earthquake, and Galford, along with three brand new characters to the series. The game also has planned DLC character for after launch.
