Samurai Shodown Confirms Xbox Series X Release This Winter

SNK Corporation announced that their fighter Samurai Shodown will launch on Xbox Series X this winter.

The Xbox Series X version has not received updated details or information outside of a new trailer. However, the trailer isn’t confirmed to be captured on Xbox Series X either, but we can expect 4K resolutions and possibly higher framerates for an already gorgeous and well-optimized game.

We previously reviewed the PC version and praised it for its visuals, but hoped for updated options such as high regulations and some type of control that we didn’t see in the console release.

Samurai Shodown will reboot the 2D fighting game series by presenting it with a new 3D graphical look. However, the developer has worked hard to retain the classic fantasy Samurai manga look of the series. Samurai Shodown is set in the late 18th century after the events of Samurai Showdown V and prior to the events of the original game. Each of the fighters has a personal mission which leads them to encounter many of their former foes.

Samurai Shodown is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
