Horror Visual Novel ‘Salthe’ Gets Western Release Date on PC

ShiraVN announced that they will localize and publish the Soiree-developed horror visual novel Salthe on PC-via Steam to release on September 15 for $14.99.

The visual novel will support English and Traditional Chinese following its release in Japanese earlier this year. Further, the game will require an off-Steam patch available on the developer’s website to restore some of the scenes within the game.

The publisher mentions that the cut version on Steam is still inappropriate for children and the faint of heart, and they’ve managed to keep the game’s atmosphere of mystery, hope, and despair throughout the story. The patch adds in a few of the steamier moments within the game for those that require a little extra.

Salthe is described as a comedy, or is it a tragedy? The story introduces Salthe, the finest actress in Mersin who always balanced her stage work and royal duties. However, she’s dead now, but a jester named Kloun grans Salthe a chance to return to life, but there could be a catch here. On the other hand, there’s a nun named Marie who Salthe helps out and may even play a larger role in this mystery.
