Famitsu has rolled out with new details on SaGa Frontier Remastered, coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC-via Steam, and iOS and Android devices on April 15.
Returning players can choose to play using “Phantom” Events by selecting “Additional elements” at the game’s start. This will unlock new story content included a scenario featuring Asellus where she visits the Institute of Life Sciences and encounters some crazy experiments.
There will also be other events that were not in the original release.
Further, a New Game+ can be enjoyed, which carries over your items, credit, parameters, and tricks to play through the game again and enjoy different events. Story items will not be carried over.
Quality-of-life features include 2x and 3x speed options and toggling a display that shows where the exits are. There’s an added retreat option for battles, and a scenario chart has been added to keep track of your adventure. Another option allows players to auto-equip the strongest gear and the option to throw away unnecessary items, which wasn’t in the original game.
SaGa Frontier Remastered will feature new stories for the game’s protagonist, including new characters such as Fuse. Players will meet a handful of heroes during the quest who each excel in certain skills and abilities. The game is being updated with HD visuals and the option to increase the speed of the gameplay. The developer has also added new events and cutscenes to give returning fans some unique adventures.
SaGa Frontier was first released on PlayStation in 1997. Players can assume the role of seven different protagonists and progress the story in a non-linear fashion. The battle system features 2D character sprites on a 3D field and allows players to choose various actions that allow them to learn new abilities during a match depending on the weapon they have equipped.
