Ryukishi07 Visual Novel ‘Loopers’ Gets Switch Release Date; Yes, There’s an English Text Option

Prototype has launched the opening movie for the Key-developed visual novel Loopers, coming to Nintendo Switch on June 2, 2022. The game is currently available on PC in Japan.

The publisher confirmed that the text can be set to Japanese, English, or Simplified Chinese. This includes in-game text, options, and the digital manual. Further, language settings can be changed at any time, but the game only features Japanese-voiced audio.

The scenario writer on Loopers is Ryukishi07, whose works include Higurashi When They Cry, Umineko When They Cry, and Ciconia When They Cry.

Loopers is centered around Taira, a high school student obsessed with geocaching, where you find treasure.

During summer vacation, Taira and her friends come across a mysterious incident, and the reality because disoriented as tomorrow becomes today. The group has been swallowed in a time vortex and trapped in a never-ending loop. That’s when they meet other “loopers,” Simon and Mia, and work together to escape.

Currently, an English PC release has not been revealed.
