Ryu Hayabusa Revealed to be Playable Character in Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate
Koei Tecmo revealed on the PlayStation Blog that Ninja Gaiden’s Ryu Hayabusa will be a playable character in their upcoming title, Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate.
Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate’s roster continues to grow well over 170 playable characters including Joan of Arc and the goddess of Gaia. The series is staying true to the 1 vs. 1,000 style of gameplay and Ryu’s inclusions seems to oddly fit in this world. To show off what he can do, the publisher released gameplay to give fans a preview of his moveset. He seems to heavily rely on his ninja abilities to get through crowds of enemies, swiftly taking out anything in his path.
However, all of this begs the question as to where a new Ninja Gaiden title is. While the ninja had appeared in the recently released Dead or Alive 6, he hasn’t received a standalone title since 2014’s Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, which wasn’t that good of a game, but arguably his last real adventure was 2012’s Ninja Gaiden 3.
Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate is in development for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC and set to launch in February 2020. Those who own Warriors Orochi 4 will be able to upgrade through a digital purchase to receive all of the Ultimate content. The game will also be available as a complete bundle.
