Guardians of Azuma brings the series to a new region shaped by Eastern influences. Azuma has been worn down by the Celestial Collapse, leaving its gods weakened and the land fading. You play as an Earth Dancer, one of two protagonists, bound to a dragon and tasked with restoring the land’s life and stability.
This entry reworks the familiar mix of action RPG combat, farming, and community building. You’ll use new weapons like the bow and talismans along with dance-based Earth Dancer abilities to fight enemies and purify corrupted areas. Outside of combat, you’ll restore entire villages rather than just tend a single farm. Rebuilding settlements attracts residents back to the region and helps revive dormant gods tied to each area.
Azuma features several villages inspired by Japanese culture, each with a seasonal theme. You’ll explore open regions, gather materials, and get to know the local cast. Romance returns with fully voiced events, and both mortal and divine characters can join you in battle or help support village growth.
