Rune Factory 4 Special Receives PS4, Xbox One, and PC Release Date; Includes Visual Improvements and Free DLC
XSEED announced that their farming action-adventure Rune Factory 4 Special, will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam and Microsoft Store on December 7, 2021, for $29.99. This will be a digital-only launch across these platforms.
Following the 2020 release on Nintendo Switch, Rune Factory 4 Special makes its way to new platforms. This version includes visual improvements across these platforms along with Another Episode DLC for free. This DLC adds a series of illustrated storybook-style episodes narrated by the game’s 12 marriage candidates and Selphia’s guardian dragon Ventuswill, fully voiced in English and Japanese.
Rune Factory 4 Special is a Story of Season’s spinoff the appeared on the Nintendo 3DS, selling over 300,000 copies in North America and Europe. This version of the game adds HD resolutions, a new opening movie, and a “Hell” difficulty level. There is also a new feature known as “Newlywed Mode,” where players will be able to experience unique scenarios between the game’s 12 bachelors and bachelorettes with original recorded voice audio and cutscenes.
During gameplay, players can set out on quests through dungeons to collect materials and fight monsters. Then they can also interact with NPCs who provide story bits, but it’s all about dating anyway, which is totally possible.
