Rune Factory 3 Special Gets September Release in the West; New Trailer Highlights Gameplay

XSEED announced that the Marvelous-developed farming-sim adventure, Rune Factory 3 Special, will launch on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on September 5, 2023.

The announcement came with a new gameplay trailer showing the localized version of the game. Further, players can get a brief preview of some of the English dub audio and event scenes.

This version of the game also includes a “Hell” difficulty level to challenge returning players.

Rune Factory 3 Special is an HD remaster of the original Rune Factory 3 game originally released on the Nintendo DS. In this title, players play as Micah, an amnesiac protagonist who can transform into two forms. Farm, fight, and fall in love as you revisit a classic in the series that perfected the blend of RPG and Life-sim genres.

Throughout the game, players will enter dungeons to collect materials used for completing tasks and earning funds. Progression is made through in-game seasons, where various special events will take place.

The game is set to release on March 2, 2023, in Japan, so it’s going to be a few months for western players to get their hands on it. Still, it’s not as bad as the lengthy wait for Rune Factory 4 Special.
