In a press release shared with Famitsu, developer Marvelous shared further details regarding Rune Factory 3 Special; the HD remaster port from the original Nintendo DS game. The press release stated that the game will be releasing in Japan on March 2, 2023. Unfortunately, the Western release date still vaguely remains as 2023.
In the wave of information, it was revealed that Newlywed Mode, a feature previously included in the Rune Factory 4 Special remaster, will also be appearing in this title, which lets players view an additional tale that takes place after you’ve married a certain candidate. Furthermore, a new Hell difficulty can also be toggled. In the game’s own words, this difficulty is “for people who think Hard is too Easy.”

Rune Factory 3 Special is an HD remaster of the original Rune Factory 3 game originally released on the Nintendo DS. In this title, players play as Micah, an amnesiac protagonist who can transform into two forms. Farm, fight and fall in love as you revisit a classic in the series that perfected the blend of RPG & Life-sim genres.
Rune Factory 3 Special will be releasing in Japan on March 2, 2023 for Nintendo Switch. XSEED will be localizing the game in North America, while Marvelous Europe will be handling distribution in the titular region, though no specific release dates have been given yet.
