RPG Maker MV Suffers Delay After “Ongoing Issues With Development”

NIS America announced that the release for upcoming RPG Maker MV will be postponed until late 2019 from it’s originally scheduled February 26, 2019 release date.

Evidentally, developer Kadokawa has encountered ongoing issues that have slowed development of the game. Currently, it doesn’t seem that these have been solved because the publisher doesn’t issue a new release date outside of saying “later in 2018”. In cases like this, it’s good that developers are taking the time they need to deliver the product that fans will enjoy.

NIS America released in a statement:

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to all those who are looking forward to this game, and we are taking action in order to deliver the best possible product to our fans.

RPG Maker MV allows players to create their own RPG by providing them with the tools they need. This includes assets, customization options, and tutorials. Players will also be able to upload their games for anyone to play, even those who don’t own RPG Maker MV.

RPG Maker MV is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Author’s take: Honestly, I don’t mind delays especially if they are to make the game better. I’d hate for a studio to release a bad game, but I know the budget is always the case. Hopefully, this game releases without any more problems.
