Root Letter: Last Answer Details its Interactive Elements in New Gameplay Trailer

PQube released new details for the Kadokawa Games developed mystery visual novel Root Letter: Last Answer, coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on August 30 in Europe and September 3 in North America.

The publisher has revealed the game’s interactive elements where players will need to focus on solving the story’s mystery and making in-game choices.

First off, players will have access to a map of Shimane Prefecture where they can choose points of interest to travel too. Throughout the mission of learning what happened to Aya, each location presents a new puzzle that will lead you to figure out the mystery of her death.

At these locations, players will be able to search through the environments to find clues. This also includes item management to spot important points of interest. During the game’s dialog, players will be able to confront and interrogate individuals as you stir up painful memories to reveal more about the mystery.

Root Letter: Last Answer marks the return of the best-selling interactive mystery visual novel. In the game, players will follow the footsteps of Aya Fumino, a school penfriend allegedly involved in a tragic murder 15 years ago.

This murder case has yet to be solved, so it’ll be up to the player to explore the Prefecture of Shimane to uncover clues and track down clues as to what led to Aya Fumino’s death. The catch with this, however, is that her friends are now adults living a peaceful life, so they may not be so willing to give go back to the past and share painful memories.
