Adventure RPG ‘Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe’ Opens Pre-Registration in the West for Summer Release

Square Enix announced that their adventure RPG Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe has opened up pre-registration in the west for Android devices, with iOS to open soon, for its Summer 2020 release.

Additionally, the publisher revealed that an Android-exclusive closed beta is scheduled and fans can sign up to be part of the test. The test is set to begin in late March.

Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe borrows from the 16-bit era graphics as players will meet new characters to add to their party. The game released in December 2018 in Japan and has gained a large following of players after being downloaded over 15 million times.

Romancing SaGa Re;univerSe takes place 300 years after the event of Romancing SaGa 3. Players are able to assume the role of various characters from across the series as they experience the game’s updated battle system and narrative.

In case you missed it, Romancing SaGa 3 released in the west, 24 years after its Japanese release on Super Famicom. The game introduces new gameplay elements to the series that has players assume the role of one of eight protagonists.

Each character has their own storyline and will meet the other characters and recruit them to their party for battle. The game also uses an LP system that is used to do things such as revive characters and with their HP reaches 0, while recruited characters can be added to the party again, the death of the main character will result in a Game Over.
