Romancing SaGa 3 Launches in the West 24 Years After Japanese Release
Square Enix announced that Romancing SaGa 3 is available now in the west on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, PC, and iOS and Android devices.
Romancing SaGa 3 launched 24 years ago in Japan on the Super Famicom, the game introduces new gameplay elements to the series that has players assume the role of one of eight protagonists. Each character has their own storyline and will meet the other characters and recruit them to their party for battle. The game also uses an LP system that is used to do things such as revive characters and with their HP reaches 0, while recruited characters can be added to the party again, the death of the main character will result in a Game Over.
During battles, characters learn new abilities after they learn about their enemies. These new skills are often powerful attacks as well as evading abilities.
The remastered version has been delayed several times after creator Akitoshi Kawazu has been working to implement the English text onto multiple platforms. This version of the game will feature optimized graphics, a new dungeon known as the “Phantom Maze” and a New Game+ function. This version also contains added storylines to the game
The publisher released a new trailer of the game, which you can watch below:
