Rogue Legacy 2 Releasing for PS4 & PS5 Next Week

Cellar Door Games has announced that their action roguelite Rogue Legacy 2 will launch for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on June 20, 2023. Additionally, the title will be cross-buy, meaning one platform purchase will automatically provide the other.

Players can also anticipate every content update to be implemented at launch, ensuring that the PlayStation releases of the game are in line with the other versions. In particular, the final update, Swan Song, will be included. It features “three New Special Game Modes (True Rogue, Thanatophobia, Thana-two-phobia), three new Fabled Weapons, and a new Boss encounter.”

Rogue Legacy was released in 2013 as a platformer roguelike where players explore a procedurally generated dungeon full of various rooms, paths, and enemies. The goal is to defeat four bosses across each themed dungeon area and then a final boss to end the adventure. However, that is a bit easier said than done as the path there isn’t so easy.

Each time a player dies, they will need to choose the heir to the knight to take on the dungeon. This system also always has various skills and abilities to be inherited. However, over time they will gain access to new power-ups and weapons that will help them during a run.

Rogue Legacy 2 launched into Early Access in 2020, and it has received ten significant content updates.
