Developer WayForward has shared a new trailer for the upcoming River City Girls 2. This brief trailer showcases a myriad of combative actions players can perform to defeat their foes in style. A tease of the soundtrack is also present, and it sounds really damn good.
WayForward has released a blog post detailing information regarding the game’s mechanics and features. Notable incorporations include 3 difficulty settings, quest tracking, and a “dynamic story system with dialogue that changes depending on the player-controlled characters.” The original River City Girls composer, Megan McDuffee, has also returned to the fray.

River City Girls 2 will release for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in Summer 2022.
The original River City Girls tells the story of Kyoko and Misako, two high-schoolers who know a thing or two about defending themselves as they explore the six regions of River City to rescue their kidnapped boyfriends, who happen to Kunio and Riki. Players will utilize the game’s combo mechanics, including counters, throws, and special attacks as they fight their way through the streets. They’ll also be able to interact with NPCs, which includes guest stars from previous River City titles.
