Yuri-Horror Visual Novel ‘Rituals in the Dark’ Launches on PC

Indie visual novel developer Ebi-hime released their newest title Rituals in the Dark on PC-via Steam and itch.io.

Rituals in the Dark is a kinetic yuri visual novel with light horror elements. Players will follow Aspen Draper, a girl who holds onto aspects of her past that make her dwell on events. Six months before the story, her neighbor, Mrs. Leigh, died from a heart attack. After a dare, Aspen finds herself breaking into Mrs. Leigh’s house to confront an alleged ghost that is haunting the place.

While she doesn’t find Mrs. Leigh hanging around, she does end up meeting a ghost named Althea. Strangely, this ghost knows things about Aspen that she had been keeping secret. Over time, their bonds grow, and well, I think Aspen ends up falling in love with this ghost, but I might just be jumping to conclusions.

Rituals in the Dark features three hours of gameplay with 50,000 words of text. This is a kinetic visual novel that offers detailed backgrounds and CGs for players at 1080p resolutions. The soundtrack is mentioned to be inspired by The Cure, which is pretty cool.

This is an all-ages yuri visual novel, so expect light romance.
