Risk of Rain 2 Surprise Launch on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch
During PAX West, Gearbox Publishing announced that the Hopoo Games developed TPS roguelike Risk of Rain 2 is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch for $29.99.
Risk of Rain 2 is a third-person shooter roguelike where players will find themselves in procedurally generated levels and must find a gate to lead to a new floor. Through each floor, players will face many enemies and bosses that net them gold. There is also the possibility of finding rare weapons and abilities that make the levels a little easier. However, the most compelling part of the game is its cooperative gameplay where players can jump into the game with up to four other players.
The console release of Risk of Rain 2 will also include the Scorched Acres update which adds a new stage, Survivor REX, and The Grovetender boss along with other items and equipment. The team plans to roll out new content to consoles for every season up through Summer 2020. These updates ill include new Survivors, bosses, stages, and items.
Additionally, the developer released the original Risk of Rain on Xbox One for players on that console to check out the roots of the series. Risk of Rain 2 is available on PC now.
The publisher also released a new gameplay announcement trailer to highlight the tough action themes of the game.
