Roguelike Dungeon Crawler ‘Ring of Pain’ Gets Free Update Adding New Content

Humble Games announced that the Simon Boxer and Twice Different-developed roguelike dungeon crawler Ring of Pain has received a free update titled “Mimic’s Hoard.”

In Mimic’s Hoard, players will find a host of new content to discover during runs, including:

  • 80+ New items
  • 15+ New creatures
  • 5+ New special rooms
  • 15+ New achievements
  • 15+ New Daily Dungeon modifiers

Further, an additional Medium difficulty has been added to help new players get acquainted with the gameplay loop and prepare for Hard mode. There have been a few quality-of-life systems updated that improve the starting items, with a new feature added to The Collection, which highlights a Statistic page to display gameplay stats. When players receive a Game Over, they will now see a map of the hidden paths.

Ring of Pain initially released in October 2020. During gameplay, players will build decks of cards to fight their way through dungeons. There’s a lot of choices given to players as they progress, which depends on the deck they are trying to create. However, the rogue-like nature of the game makes each run a different experience. It’s also worth noting that the card illustrations are quite eye-catching and the creatures are nightmarish.
