Developer RGG Studio has recently made a slew of significant announcements regarding the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise. To better help organize the new information, we have compiled it into this article.
Like a Dragon 8
Developer RGG Studio and publisher Sega have officially announced Like a Dragon 8. This turn-based RPG will be a sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon and will have Ichiban and Kiryu as protagonists. A 2024 release is planned for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
Developer RGG Studio and publisher Sega have announced Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows and Steam.
This action title will focus on the series’ former protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, between Yakuza 6: The Song of Life leading up to Like a Dragon 8. A 2023 release is planned.

Like a Dragon: Ishin!
During today’s State of Play, developer RGG Studio announced that Like a Dragon: Ishin! is releasing for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC via Windows and Steam on February 21, 2023. This title was initially only released in Japan in 2014 as Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin! Further, this will be a fully-fledged remake in Unreal Engine 4 with new content.

Judgment & Lost Judgment Available on PC
Developer RGG Studio and publisher Sega have finally launched Judgment, Lost Judgment, and The Kaito Files DLC on PC via Steam. These titles have remained console exclusive, with no word on potential PC availability. We received early codes for the titles and shared our thoughts on the ports.
Regarding pricing, here’s a breakdown of the potential purchases prospective fans can make:

Lastly, to clear up any potential confusion, Sega has clarified that the series will now be called “Like a Dragon” in the West instead of “Yakuza” to better align with the Japanese name.
