Visual Novel ‘Rewrite+’ Officially Coming West Following Successful Kickstarter

Sekai Project has announced that the Kickstarter for the VisualArts Key developed visual novel Rewrite+ has concluded and is successful. Meaning, the game will be headed west on PC.

The crowdfunding project has secured $207,000 and was asking $180,000 to have the game released in the west. Now fans will need to play the waiting game as the publisher works on the localization of title. Being that the project is a large undertaking we might not hear of an update until some time in 2020.

The project was first announced at Anime Expo 2017, but the team had since spent $40,000 on the programming and localization of the title. The Kickstarter was launched due to the size of the project which includes Rewrite+ and Rewrite Harvest festa! The other issue encountered for funding has been with the publisher paying voice licensing fees that must be paid through the actor’s agencies for each voice actor.

Rewrite+ and Rewrite Harvest festa! is set in Kazamatsuri, where Tennoji Kotarou spends his day with his close group of friends. Once a year, an event shakes the foundations of this small town. Known as the harvest festival, Kotarous collects information about creatures and the occult. All around him, strange things happen, and Kotarou does what he can to find the “truth” that no one else has discovered.
