Visual Novel ‘Rewrite+’ Delayed Until Q2 2021 to Finish Localization

Sekai Project has announced that the VisualArts Key developed visual novel Rewrite+ has been delayed from its January release window to a new window of Q2 2021.

The delay will help the translation team complete the visual novel as they focus on the game’s many routes. Given the nature of these routes and their significance to the story, new translators had to be caught up on the text before they could begin work. Now, the team is progressing with the game’s localization for a Q2 release.

Currently, Steiner, a translator on staff, is shifting focus to Harvest Festa while the other team members focus on their specific routes.

Rewrite+ was successfully crowdfunded last year to bring the title west. The campaign was created to bring Rewrite+ and Rewrite Harvest Festa! to western fans and pay the high cost of voice audio licensing fees.

Rewrite+ and Rewrite Harvest Festa! is set in Kazamatsuri, where Tennoji Kotarou spends his day with his close group of friends. Once a year, an event shakes the foundations of this small town. Known as the harvest festival, Kotarous collects information about creatures and the occult. Strange things happen all around him, and Kotarou does what he can to find the “truth” that no one else has discovered.
