Return to Monkey Island Reveals New Trailer; September 2022 Nintendo Switch & PC Launch

During Gamescom 2022, Devolver Digital shared a new trailer for their upcoming narrative adventure, Return to Monkey Island, revealing a September 19, 2022, release date for Nintendo Switch and PC.

The new video contains humorous commentary from the marketing department, briefly discussing the setting and cast, alongside a pre-order bonus of free horse armor. Additionally, pre-orders are now available.

Return to Monkey Island is a revival of Lucasarts’ classic adventure game series, previously announced in April. Developed by Terrible Toybox, the studio founded by series creator Ron Gilbert, the title is set to be published later this year by Devolver Digital. A full list of platforms has yet to be announced, but the game will be coming to Switch before other consoles.

Return is set after the events of the second game LeChuck’s Revenge and will see the return of most of the classic main cast and musical composers, and will bring back original series creators Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman to co-write the script and direct.
