Retro-Inspired Platformer ‘Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland’ Announced
The Media Indie Exchange (The MIX), in partnership with licensor Paramount, Wallride Games, and Limited Run Games, has announced The MIX Games publishing label’s first title, Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland.
This retro NES-inspired, puzzle-platforming adventure will launch for PC and unspecified consoles in 2024. Players will go on a journey with fan-favorite characters Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil that is playable both solo and co-op.
The levels’ contents will vary, comprising high-speed chase sequences, “[sneaking] around as a baby-stack trench coat,” and destroying buildings as Reptar. Other familiar faces include Angelica, Cynthia, and Spike.
There will also be HD hand-drawn animations reminiscent of the original show separately toggleable from the 8-bit presentation. Moreover, while not specified, the babies will each have their own abilities and mechanics for greater gameplay variety.
