Retro-Style FPS ‘Dread Templar’ Revealed for PC in New Trailer

1C Entertainment announced they will publish the T19 Games-developer retro-style FPS Dread Templar on PC-via Steam for a planned launch into Steam Early Access in Fall 2021.

Initially titled Hell Hunt, Dread Templar is a retro 3D FPS that borrows elements from both modern retro shooters and classic titles from the 90s. During gameplay, players assume the role of a Dread Templar who seeks revenge deep in the evil realm. Yea, I wasn’t expecting much of a reason to kill some demons. I mean, these games have never been known for their compelling narratives.

Players will explore levels, solve puzzles for hidden weapons and upgrades, and kill a lot of stuff. Hordes of demons fill the levels, but players have access to a variety of weapons that can be customized to fit their playstyle. More than 10 weapon types are available, including katana swords, firearms, and infernal guns.

To celebrate the announcement, the publisher released a new trailer that shows off gameplay and level design. The Early Access announcement is also included, and we assume the developer will use this to collect feedback from players as they fine-tune the gameplay.
