Resident Evil Village: The Mercenaries Gameplay Mode Detailed in Latest Showcase
During today’s Resident Evil Showcase, Capcom revealed new information for one of Resident Evil Village’s gameplay modes, The Mercenaries. This is a staple minigame in the series that consists of frantic shooting while trying to reach the goal in the allotted amount of time.
However, there are some changes in this implementation of the mode, the first of which is the addition of a shop. Players can purchase and upgrade guns with collected currency, with customization now being one of the central pillars of thought for needed progression.
Abilities are also now added, which can increase the damage outputted by handguns, increase movement speed, and increase guarding proficiency. This also adds a deeper layer of strategy for prevailing in this gameplay mode.
Resident Evil Village will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on May 7, 2021.
