Resident Evil Village Sells Over 4.8 Million Units Worldwide
Developer and publisher Capcom has announced via its latest fiscal report that the latest mainline entry in the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil Village, has sold over 4.8 million units worldwide. Congratulations to Capcom and the development team for achieving this noteworthy milestone. Here’s to further growth and success for this iconic horror and action series.
DLC for the title was stated to be in development back during E3 of this year. Unfortunately, nothing was shared about whether the DLC is additional story content or just a side-story companion to the mainline game. All that was revealed was that more info will be announced later, so I guess all we can do is wait.
Resident Evil Village is set a few years after the events of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. We are reintroduced to Ethan and Mia, who have moved to a new location and are relatively happy. However, right when they thought things were going well, tragedy befalls them. Players then assume the role of a distraught Etan who seeks to uncover the truth of the mysteries affecting a once peaceful village.
The game borrows the first-person perspective from Resident Evil 7 Biohazard as players explore a new town and uncover its secrets.
Resident Evil Village is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC
