New Demo for Resident Evil Village to Roll Out in a Confusing Way Across All Platforms

During a special video presentation, Capcom announced that a Resident Evil Village demo will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Stadia over some confusing times.

  • North America: May 1, 5 pm through – May 2, 5 pm PDT
  • Europe: May 2, 2 am – May 3, 2 am CEST
  • Asia: May 2, 8 am – May 3 am HKT

Players will have 60 minutes to explore the entire Village and Castle areas. Players are free to spend the full hour in both areas and choose how they want to spend their time. They can hang out in the village or go to the castle. Evidently, there are events to experience in both areas.

PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 will have early access to the demo titled “8 hours in Village”:

  • North America: April 17, 5 pm – April 18, 1 am PDT

Here, players will have 30 minutes to play in both castles during this time. They can then play again in the next demo period.

Resident Evil Village is set a few years after the events of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. We are reintroduced to Ethan and Mia who have moved to a new location and are relatively happy. However, right when they thought things were going well, tragedy befalls them. Players then assume the role of a distraught Etan who seeks to uncover the truth of the mysteries that are affecting a once peaceful village.

The game borrows the first-person gameplay perspective from Resident Evil 7 Biohazard as players explore a new town and uncover its secrets.
