Resident Evil 4 VR Shows Off Gameplay and October Release Date in New Trailer

Capcom has launched a trailer for Resident Evil 4 VR, a version of RE4 designed exclusively for Oculus Quest 2, to release on October 21, 2021.

Resident Evil 4 VR has players assume the role of Leon, this time more immersive than ever before. Leon will fight against a new type of virus during gameplay where zombies appear to be more intelligent and deadly. As he navigates the environments, we’ll face off against water monsters, chains wielding freaks, and golem-like goblins, all while fighting against some weird cult and hanging out with the President’s daughter.

A trailer was released that highlights some of the guns players will be able to use. The game is played in the first person as they navigate the familiar setting. There are puzzles for the players to take on as well that hinder the progression of the adventure, but the VR experience just makes this all a little more interesting.

Resident Evil 4 initially launched on GameCube in 2005 and has made its way to nearly every platform since. Naturally, this has fans wanting a remaster of the title, but it looks like we’ll have to settle on a VR version of the game.

The game has you play as Leon Kennedy, who is tasked with saving the President’s daughter and lead her to safety. The game requires players to conserve ammo and organize their loadout to get further into the game. Also, the enemies aren’t necessarily zombies as they communicate with each other and gang up on Leon as he holds up in houses and fights to survive. The game is very much action-oriented, but it does pack some scares. There are also collectibles and treasures found throughout the stages used to purchase new weapons and items.
