Relic Hunters Zero Gets Free Update; Includes New Risk of Rain-Inspired Mode
To celebrate the almost four-year anniversary of the free-to-play co-op shooter Relic Hunters Zero, developer Rogue Snail has released a free update for the game that includes a new game mode inspired by Hopoo Games’ critically-acclaimed action platformer Risk of Rain.
The new mode is called “The Storm”, and it’s an action roguelike game mode that has players survive as long as possible against waves of enemies that get increasingly difficult as time goes on. With more than 60 items at their disposal in the mode, players have to shoot their way to victory, collect as many items as possible, and get strong enough to defeat all the bosses that come along the way.
To date, Relic Hunters Zero has three game modes (Adventure, Endless and Storm), and completed four years of existence without any microtransactions or ads — having already engaged about 1 million players around the world.
