Redfall Will Only Have 30 FPS on Xbox Launch, 60 FPS Arriving Later; More like Redfail, Amirite Fellas?
Bethesda has announced that the upcoming Arkane Studios-developed first-person shooter Redfall will only launch with a 30 FPS Quality Mode on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The former will run at 4K 30 FPS, while the latter will be at 1440p with 30 FPS.
However, the developer has confirmed that a 60 FPS Performance Mode will be implemented via an update arriving at an unspecified time post-game launch. To say this is unfortunate is quite an understatement. At the very least, 60 FPS will make its way down the line, but a current-generation game lacking that facet is not a good look.

Redfall is a new open-world co-op FPS being developed by Arkane Austin. Taking place in Redfall, Massachusetts, vampires have taken over the island, blocking it out from outsiders and blocking the sun in the process. There are a handful of survivors that are defending this land from this supernatural threat.
The game has players explore a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by vampires. The vampires here are smart, though, which is displayed after they block the sun and limit access to water. Players can play as 4 different characters that specialize in unique skills. The game allows players to approach action in unique ways using abilities, but the game seems to focus on the characters and their relationships while players make their way across the island.
Redfall will launch for Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 2, 2023.
