Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Have Online Mode “Blending Narrative With Competitive and Cooperative Gameplay”

Rockstar Games revealed more about the online mode in their upcoming open-world adventure title Red Dead Redemption 2, coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26.

Red Dead Online will release after the game’s launch as a mode within Red Dead Redemption 2 that allows players to log in and play with friends and strangers in the game’s open world. The developer states that they are working to blend the game’s “narrative with competitive and cooperative gameplay in fun new ways”. The team plans to be constantly updating the mode and adjust it as the community grows.

Additionally, Red Dead Online will launch in November 2018 as a public beta. This type of launch will allow the developers to troubleshoot issues and fine-tune their product before it’s official launch. The developer writes, “We look forward to working with our amazing and dedicated community to share ideas, help us fix teething problems and work with us to develop Red Dead Online into something really fun and innovative.”

Red Dead Online is a free mode for owners of Red Dead Redemption 2.

More details on this mode will release soon. Recently, new details about some of the towns were released as well as an extensive first gameplay trailer.
