Rean Schwarzer & Altina Orion Will Not be Dubbed by his Their Game Voice Actors in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Northern War Anime

Unfortunately, voice actor Sean Chiplock has announced that despite the original cast announcements, he will not dub Rean Schwarzer in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Northern War anime due to “unfortunate circumstances that couldn’t be resolved in time.” Sean does not know if other voice actors who are meant to reprise their roles from the Trails of Cold Steel games were also affected.

Still, he does emphasize that he holds no ill will toward his replacement and that this re-cast was a choice he independently made. We do not yet know who Rean’s new English voice actor for this show will be. Sean has also confirmed that he is still Rean in the upcoming localized release of Trails into Reverie and has already recorded his lines.

While this news is quite saddening, Rean has not appeared too often throughout the anime, though that might change in the later episodes.

Episode seven of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Northern War anime is now available with English subtitles on Crunchyroll, though only the first three episodes are dubbed.

Those of you watching the next few upcoming episodes of Trails of Cold Steel: #TheNorthernWar may notice that at least one character credit doesn’t match the original cast announcements.

In my case, I ended up unable to reprise as Rean. I don’t know if this also affected others.

UPDATE: The English voice actress of Altina Orion, Xanthe Huynh, will also not reprise her role in the anime.

If you've been keeping up with the Trails of Cold Steel: The Northern War English dub, I was unable to reprise as Altina this time. I know I was officially announced and I was super excited because I love voicing her, but it unfortunately didn't work out.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is releasing for Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via the Epic Games Store, GOG, and Steam at the following times:
