Insomniac Games Developer Reveals New Update to Help Speedrunners Playing Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Insomniac Games has turned their attention onto a community of players who are speedrunning their newest game Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

There are a few known tricks that the community has picked up and a member of the development staff has decided to share some updates that will affect their current routes.

The writer shares, “First thing, we’ve tweaked the “super boost” a little bit – but it’s still there for the most park. Now, instead of just brushing up against a wall and meleeing, you’ll need to max boost against a wall while holding L2 + melee to trigger the boost. We made the change after discovering that casual players were running into issues by accidentally triggering it.”

Further patch notes shared include:

  • Added the option to disable the “weapon level up” message
  • Option to disable the weapon/hero level up slowdown time
  • Option to disable the weapon wheel pause effect
  • Ability to bind “skip cutscene” to D-pad shortcut

With these added options, the timing to get through the game will be significantly cut shorter and fans seem to be excited about the new routes they’ll be able to put together.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more news and updates for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is available now on PlayStation 5.
