Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Gets Release Date on PS5 in New Trialer
Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that the Insomniac Games-developed adventure platformer Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will launch on PlayStation 5 on June 11, 2021.
The publisher released a new trailer to go along with the announcement that sets up the narrative where Dr. Nefarious uses a device that can access alternate dimensions to find a galaxy where he wins, and Rachet and Clank are separated. A new Lombax fighter accompanies Their reunion.
The game is a stand-alone quest for new players to the series but does connect to the previous titles in a few different ways.
The developer also released the cover art, which is pretty cool. There’s additional information provided for various editions, with a digital edition available for $79.99, to receive extra DLC armor and weapons.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart sees many gameplay elements from Ratchet & Clank 2016, a reboot of the series. However, players will be able to control a new character, a female Lombax, who most will ship with Rachet soon. Players will have access to a range of weapons and gadgets that will allow them to take down the many threats that the team faces. Furthermore, the game will take advantage of the Dualsense controller utilizing its haptic feedback.
