Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Has Gone Gold Ahead of June 11 Launch

Developer Insomniac Games has a lot to celebrate today as the team announced their adventure platformer Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has gone gold ahead of the PlayStation 5 release on June 11, 2021.

This means the team has submitted the mastered version and can hopefully sit back and relax a bit until launch. However, there are most likely small fixes that the team would still like to implement, but this typically means that game is in a state of release that isn’t riddled with day one patches and gameplay issues.

It’s also a sign that they were given a good amount of time to work on the project. In a time where deadlines and crunch have been an issue, going gold a month before launch means the team was probably given more time than they needed, which is good considering other teams have been forced to push it to the wire.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart sees many gameplay elements from Ratchet & Clank 2016, a reboot of the series. However, players will be able to control a new character, a female Lombax, who most will ship with Rachet soon. Players will have access to a range of weapons and gadgets that will allow them to take down the many threats that the team faces. Furthermore, the game will take advantage of the Dualsense controller utilizing its haptic feedback.
