Psychological Horror Visual Novel ‘Raging Loop’ Details How One Choice Can Lead to Death

PQube released new gameplay details for the Kemco developed psychological horror visual novel, Raging Loop, coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Europe on October 18 and in North America on October 22. The publisher also announced that the game will receive a PC release via Steam on December 5, worldwide.

During the game, players will have to understand what happens prior to the events of Haruaki becoming lost. A long time ago,  Fujiyoshi Village was home to five guardians, one being known as the wolves. After the wolves caused many deaths, the humans decided to revolt against them by joining forces with the other guardians to kill them. However, this ended with the village being cursed for eternity, and red mist will come down from the mountain every few years during what is known as the Feast of Yomi-Purge. During this time, the wolves will kill one person, and every day the other has to hang one person, choosing who they believe is the wolf, which makes this all a glorified game of werewolf.

Now, Haruaki is lost but finds himself at the nearest city where he encounters a young woman named Chiemi and decided to stay the night. After a short walk, they spend the evening getting to know each other after a few drinks. The next day, Haruaki meets the other villagers, who are happy he’s there. Suddenly, a red mist surrounds Yasumizu, and Haruaki is forced into hiding. While in an outhouse, he hears a scream that he can’t ignore and steps out into the mist where he meets a shadow covered in fur. Moments later, he’s dead.

After his death, Haruaki is looking at a map and decided that he lost. He meets a young girl named Chiemi, who he somehow remembers.

Essentially, this is the game loop of Raging Loop where the player will make choices that could lead to their death, but they’ll be more equipped to get further through each playthrough.

Raging Loop follows a story that takes place in the secluded Japanese village of Yasumizu. A heavy mist has begun to surround the town, which makes it impossible to leave. If that wasn’t bad enough, ancient gods have come back to life to hunt the villagers down one by one. Their feast has begun, and the villagers must do anything they can to escape.

Additionally, the publisher revealed a Day One edition of the game, which includes a 100-page art book full of illustrations and character bios.
