Rad Rodgers: Radical Edition Launches on Switch Later This Month; Gets a Rad Gameplay Trailer
Rad Rodgers, a 90s throwback platformer from developer Slipgate Studios and publishers 3D Realms and HandyGames, is getting a totally rad Nintendo Switch release, Rad Rodgers: Radical Edition, that’ll launch on February 26.
What makes the Radical Edition so radical is that it’ll have all-new content including local co-op, a versus mode, and 90s gaming all-stars like the King himself, Duke Nukem. Fear not, non-Switch owners or those that already have Rad Rodgers, every new addition will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of Rad Rodgers via a free update. Totally tubular for the developer and publishers to do that, right?
Along with Duke Nukem, the Radical Edition will have several other classic characters like Lo Wang from Shadow Warrior, Cosmo from Cosmo’s Cosmic Adventure and Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison from Bombshell and Ion Maiden. For Duke Nukem in the Radical Edition, the original voice actor, Jon St. John is back to reprise his role as the character.
Other new features that players will enjoy are new levels, abilities, mini-games, a new overworld, and tons of new secrets, collectables and unlockables.
Via a press release, Frederik Schreiber, co-owner of publisher 3D Realms, shared how the studio’s love for Rad Rodgers is why the game is getting a new release and update:
“We love Rad, and we thought he deserved some awesome new friends to play with. With new levels, weapons, couch co-op and a versus mode, I think our fans may have a hard time putting this game down.”

Author’s take: Better to be rad than sad. Loving all the 90s throwback characters, and adding local co-op is great! I’m definitely planning on getting Rad Rodgers: Radical Edition.
