Action Roguelike ‘RAD’ Gets PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC Release Date

Bandai Namco announced that the Double Fine Productions developed action roguelike RAD will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on August 20.

RAD is a 3D action roguelike where players can explore a “post-post-apocalyptic” world after humanity has faced a second dose of Armageddon. Players will assume the role of a teenage protagonist who journeys into the Fallow, an ever-changing, radioactive wasteland full of unknown creatures. This also just so happens to be the place holding the solution to heal the world and bring new life to the world.

However, this will come at a great personal cost to the player, the deeper you journey into the unknown, the more you’ll expose yourself to toxins which will distort your human form. During exploration,  players will gain new abilities as the world around them changed their appearance the farther they go. Like most roguelike games, this is something that will come at random and perhaps not all abilities will be as helpful as the others.

The journey isn’t taken on alone, however, a bat will accompany the player, which can be swapped out for other bats that have additional abilities. Players will also be able to bank abilities to use for future runs or trade it in for new items.
