Puyo Puyo Champions Announced for the West Focused on “Global Online Competitive Multiplayer”

Sega announced that Puyo Puyo Champions will be headed west for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam, on May 7.

The crazy fast match puzzle game will be launch at an affordable price of $9.99 and will include all the features and modes that fans of the series enjoy. Players will be able to choose between 24 different characters and explore a new layout which makes the game more accessible to players of all skill levels.

Puyo Puyo Champions is focused on global online competitive multiplayer and uses the Puyo Puyo 2 and Puyo Puyo Fever ruleset. Yes, this means that “Fever Mode” will return to the game, which makes it possible to easily win against an opponent using ready-made chains. Additional modes include Tournament Mode, which is an eight-player tournament for local play.

Puyo Puyo Champions also has a replay system which saves video history of your matches and lets players easily share their best combos. The game will also support Dual Audio with the original Japanese voice audio.

The publisher also launched a new trailer showing gameplay from the title to give fans a preview of what they can expect from the upcoming title.
