Psychedelic Metroidvania ‘ULTROS’ Reveals Gameplay Trailer
Sweden-based developer Hadoque, Kowloon, and Kepler Ghost have revealed the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming psychedelic metroidvania game, ULTROS.
Prospective players can get a better look at the platforming, boss battles, and exploration coated across this uniquely presented experience. In this alien adventure boasting artwork by El Huervo from the Hotline Miami series, players will attempt to uncover cosmic mysteries within the world of The Sarcophagus. This “cosmic uterus [holds] an ancient demonic being known as ULTROS.”
Combat utilizes a blade and is reactionary-heavy. Fights are defined by urgency, with close-quarter bouts where precision means everything. Further, if you die, you’ll be looped back in time prior to that fate. The title is also characterized by its environmental storytelling and the inhabitants you will encounter.
The game was initially announced in May 2023 during the PlayStation Showcase.
