SEGA Teases New Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis Region Arriving June 2022; New April Updates

In the latest NGS Headline, developer SEGA revealed to all players a brief idea of what to expect in the coming updates in April for Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis, including quality of life improvements, new Scratch Tickets, and more. Further, the new snowy region, Kvaris, was also teased in a brand new trailer during the broadcast.

Starting off, the navigator, Hiro Arai, showed a variety of new AC and SG scratches coming to the game during April. The Casual Comfort and Gilded Glamour will be added to the AC Scratch lineup. Additionally, players can spend SG on the Refined Form 2 scratch, including popular clothing and accessories from the previous PSO2 game but remade with NGS physics.

Next, we have the Geometric Labyrinth, a dungeon that players can challenge in Retem. It’s essentially a tower with multiple floors that players must clear with their party without failing the side-quests too many times. The level of the enemies inside corresponds to the highest level of whoever is in the party. (Example: If your party has a LV. 40 player, and the rest is LV. 25; the enemies will be LV. 40.)

A new snowy mountainous region, Kvaris, will be coming to New Genesis later this year in June in the Frozen Resolution update. The trailer showed a variety of snowy landscapes, including the ability to snowboard across the mountain. More details about the new region will be revealed at a later date.

Lastly, the developers announced that April 7th, 2022 marks 10 years since Phantasy Star Online 2 was released, and have prepared a series of campaigns:

• The Item Design, Illustration, and Online Cosplay contests will open once again. Players can have the opportunity to have their creations displayed in-game and the chance to get in-game items.
• Great deals in the SG Shop, as well as a campaign that rewards you the more AC you spend, will be available.
• Upgraded enhancement quests and EXP quests will be available.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is a new MMORPG part of the PSO2 universe but is a brand new adventure offering upgrading visuals and a new narrative, amongst other quality-of-life updates.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is considered to be a “huge-scale update” to Phantasy Star Online 2. Players will find new game systems created using a new graphics engine. The update was made to celebrate the series’s 2oth anniversary and the tenth anniversary of Phantasy Star Online 2. 

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is available now on Xbox One and PC as a free-to-play game.
