Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis Headline Reveals New Roadmap for H1 2023; NIJISANJI VTuber Collaboration February 2023
In the latest NGS Headline, developer SEGA revealed to all players a brief idea of what to expect in the future updates for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis in the next coming weeks, including quality of life improvements, new Scratch Tickets, a collaboration with V-Tuber agency NIJISANJI and NIJISANJI EN, and more. Further, a new roadmap was teased, showing the updates planned to be released by June 2023.
Starting things off, the navigator, Hiro Arai, showcased both the New Year’s Memories Scratch Ticket and the Rewind Collection 8, both of which will be available via the Shop after the scheduled maintenance on December 28. Furthermore, the Ring out the Old, Ring in the New Campaign will also start, featuring EXP and Rare Drop Rate bonuses, pre-announced Urgent Quests, and a campaign where you can perform a free 10-pull SG scratch each day.
In addition, Winter-themed seasonal events are also planned. Players will be able to defeat the limited-time enemies and collect Seasonal Points, which can be exchanged for various rewards, including the 8★ Tenebrous set of weapons. Furthermore, Nord Rappies and Nord Emperappies will be appearing all across the field, with an increased chance if you manage to defeat Dread Enemies and encounter a Rappy Spot.
Next, a new quest titled Dark Falz Aegis will be released in early February. Players will finally get the chance to defeat Dark Falz once and for all. Furthermore, Mini Episodes featuring Glen and Kamui will also be added on the January 25 update, and all 7★ and 8★ rarity equipment will have its level cap increased to +60. It’s worth noting that a new item, called the Arms Refiner II, will be required, which can be obtained from the brand-new Neusen Plant Combat Sector, which is also being added in the aforementioned update.
Continuing on, two new AC Scratch tickets will be added. In the January 11 update, the Quaint Ensemble ’23 scratch will be added, with a variety of clothing items that mix traditional Japanese styles and streetwear. After which, from January 25th, prison-themed sci-fi garb will added in the Cosmic Convict AC Scratch from January 25. All of the below items can be obtained from the NGS Personal Shop, so if you are interested in any of those items, be aware of their limited-time period!
Next up, the official roadmap for the first half of 2023 was revealed. The first update in February will add two types of Limited-Time Quests and a collaboration with NIJISANJI and NIJISANJI EN, including outfits, hairstyles, accessories, voices from V-Tuber personalities Kaida Haru, Hakase Fuyuki, Hoshikawa Sara and Shu Yamino. More details about the collaboration will be disclosed on the NGS official website at a later date.
In March, the Spring 2023 event will kick off with a new rank added to the Geometric Labyrinth. Then, from April to May, a new Gunblade weapon category and Class will be added, alongside a plethora of campaigns to celebrate New Genesis‘s 2nd anniversary, with Chapter 5 of the ARKS Chronicles also being added during that period.
And finally, we have the NGS “ultra evolution update,” tentatively planned for June 2023. This update will add new Class Skills and debut the Creative Space feature that was teased a few months prior. Furthermore, the level cap will be raised from 70 to 75. Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is a new MMORPG part of the PSO2 universe but is a brand new adventure offering upgrading visuals and a new narrative, amongst other quality-of-life updates. It is considered to be a “huge-scale update” to Phantasy Star Online 2. Players will find new game systems created using a new graphics engine. The update was made to celebrate the series’s 2oth anniversary and the tenth anniversary of Phantasy Star Online 2.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is available now on Xbox One and PC as a free-to-play game. It will be available on PlayStation 4 on August 31, 2022.
