PSN Golden Week Sale Boasts Discounts on Acclaimed Spike Chunsoft Visual Novels; AI: The Somnium Files and More

The Golden Week sale is currently taking place on PlayStation Network, lasting from April 28 to May 12, 2021, for North America and Europe. This sale is boasting a remarkable slew of discounted Japanese games, some of which are from publisher Spike Chunsoft.

As for which specific titles are on sale from this publisher, various culturally impactful visual novels are considerably discounted, such as Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne for 30% off. This visual novel features an original, new story set in the Re:ZERO universe, fully supervised by the series author Tappei Nagatsuki. Additionally, alongside returning characters from the anime and novel, some brand new ones are designed by the original artist Shinichirou Otsuka to give this entry a stronger sense of uniqueness and identity.

The latest entry in the Danganropa franchise, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, is 60% off. This title features yet another killing game with a brand new cast of 16 characters imprisoned in a school.

Robotics;Notes Elite, Robotics;Notes DaSH and Robotics;Notes Double Pack are all on sale for 40% off each. These titles are entries in the critically acclaimed Science Adventure series, with Robotics;Notes Elite being the first of this saga of entries and Robotics;Notes DaSH being Elite’s direct sequel. Robotics;Notes Double Pack includes both of the aforementioned titles.

Speaking of Science Adventure titles, Steins;Gate Elite and Steins;Gate My Darling’s Embrace are both 50% off. The former is a remake of the original Steins;Gate with updated, anime adaption visuals, while the latter is a spinoff with slapstick, romantic comedy.

Hit visual novel AI: The Somnium Files is on sale for 60% off. This is a detective thriller written by the legendary Kotaro Uchikoshi, known for his work on the Zero Escape franchise. There is also stellar artwork drawn by Yusuke Kozaki, a prominent artist known for their work on No More Heroes and Fire Emblem.

Other visual novels from the publisher, such as YU-NO: A girl who chants love at the bound of this world, Zanki Zero: Last Beginning, and 428: Shibuya Scramble, are all on sale as well.

Lastly, some non-visual novel titles on sale that deserve mention are Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story, Conception Plus, and Crystar.
