Square Enix announced that the name of their upcoming mobile RPG Project Xehanort is officially titled Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road.
In development for iOS and Android devices, Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road will take players through the like of series antagonist Xehanort to witness how he grew up. How he became the intimidating and challenging boss that he is in the series will be laid out for the player through the adventure.
However, this is also a free-to-play mobile RPG, so players can expect there to be in-app purchases and maybe even a stamina system. Still, the series’ other mobile title available, Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross], has an active player base as well as various updates to its story through events.
Strangely, there was an event where fans could guess the name of the game, but it doesn’t look like anything had come of them. Alternatively, given the titles of the other games in the series, I doubt anyone would have guessed something by the name of “Dark Road,” unless it was “Dark EXroad Times 34/2 hours” or something along those lines.
More news about Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road will be sure to release soon as the publisher seems eager to share information. You can watch the name reveal video below:
There seems to be a lot of other announcements, so we’ll announce the title a little early.
