Project Sakura Wars Revealed for PS4 in Gameplay Trailer With Story Details

Sega announced new details about the upcoming Project Sakura Wars including that the game will launch on PlayStation 4 in the west in 2020.

Project Sakura Wars, working title, is based in the Sakura Wars RPG series, players will be transported to a 1940’s Imperial Tokyo where 10 years prior a cataclysm resulted in the loss of the Imperial Combet Revue of Tokyo, which was the capital’s global defense force operating out the Imperial Theater. Since then, the theater has fallen on hard times and is close to permanent closure. Players will assume the role of the new Tokyo revue and mend the hearts of the troops as well as restore the Imperial Theater back to its former glory.

Project Sakura Wars will feature a large cast of characters that players can interact with over the story. The game features a choice system during dialog that change key events as well as the relationship with the characters on the battlefield. During a battle, players will control mechs known as “spiricle armor” and take advantage of the party’s unique skills.

Project Sakura Wars will feature Japanese voice acting with English, German, French, and Spanish subtitles.
