Project Resistance Revealed as Multiplayer Title Based in The Resident Evil Universe

Capcom revealed new details about their newest horror game known as Project Resistance, working title, in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Project Resistance is a new survival horror title that is set in the Resident Evil Universe. The game is played online where five players will create their own experience within this world. However, the game is 4v1 and as four players work together to survive the nightmare, one player will act as the mastermind behind the scenes. The game is being developed in partnership with NewBards who are utilizing the tools used to developer Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5.

Project Resistance’s gameplay will allow one of the five players to access a network of security camera around the map, which allows them to stay one step ahead of the others and prevent them from escaping. This player will be able to use a deck of cards that can be used to create obstacles for the others, such as summoning vicious creatures, setting traps, manipulating the environment, and weaponizing security cameras. Additionally, the player is able to control the zombies who are attacking. Most importantly, is that this player will be able to assume the role of the Tyrant and bring hell to any survivors.

The other players will need to cooperate in order to solve puzzles while fending off the mastermind’s attacks to escape. Each survivor has a unique skill that they can use to help their team and get through the level’s challenges.

There will be a closed beta for Xbox Insider Program members and RE Ambassadors on Xbox One and PS4 on October 4 through October 7. More details will be revealed later.
