Professor Layton Series Sells Over 18 Million Units Worldwide

After the shocking announcement of the brand new Professor Layton game, Professor Layton and the New World of steam, the title’s official eShop page was launched, containing a tidbit that many fans may have accidentally skipped over. According to it, the Professor Layton franchise has sold over 18 million units worldwide.

To be completely honest, while I am a fan of this series and am aware of its sizeable following, I had no idea it was quite that popular. 18 million units sold is a staggeringly impressive feat. Here’s hoping this new title can reinvigorate the franchise following the relatively mixed reception to the Katrielle entry.

However, the title’s official website does contain a lite puzzle, where clicking on Layton’s silhouette grants the user two wallpapers in various resolutions for desktops, smartphones, and tablets.
